Regulation court dimensions
A regulation pickleball court measures 44 ft long and 20 ft wide. That footprint is the same for singles and doubles, so you do not need a different court to play either format. Each side is split by a centerline into two service areas that run from the baseline to the kitchen line.
Net height and the kitchen
The net stands 36 in at the posts and dips to 34 in at the center. The non-volley zone, often called the kitchen, is 7 ft deep on each side of the net. You cannot volley from inside the kitchen, which is why the line and the depth matter as much as the net height.
Planning a space at home
A full court needs about 44 ft by 20 ft of playable surface, plus room to move behind the baselines. A driveway or half court can work for practice, but check the net height before you drill. Convert the numbers to meters if you are marking a court or buying a net outside the US.
